Welcome to our sugarplace.

We've been making pure Vermont maple syrup for five generations.

Mobirise

The original sugarhouse in Kirby, built in 1973 by Albert, Donald, and their father Herbert.
In 2015, we began construction of a modern sugarhouse and moved our operation in 2017.

Our maple sugaring operation is a family affair. In 1970, Albert Wood, with the help of his uncle Donald Wood and the county forester, piped up the sugarbush in South Kirby, Vermont. For the next thirty-four years, Albert produced maple syrup with his sons Roger, Alan, and Jim in the family sugarhouse on the southeast side of Kirby Mountain.

The family has continued the sugaring tradition ever since, gathering each spring in the sugarbush to tap trees and boil as the snow melts. In 2015, Roger and Jim, along with Roger's sons Kevin Matte and Andy Wood, formed Kirby Mountain Maple, LLC. Recent years have brought many modernizations, including a new wood-fired sugarhouse and reverse osmosis unit, and we're still doing what we love - making the light, golden delicate syrup we are known for

We are a proud member of the Caledonia Maple Sugar Makers Association
